1. Who these terms are between

This site is operated by Jayanth Pasala (“we”, “us”). “You” means anyone who uses it. By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use it.

2. What this service is

FreeFinance provides financial education and calculation tools: calculators that apply standard formulae to numbers you supply, interactive simulations, written explanations, and self-assessment quizzes. It is free, and almost all of it works without an account.

3. What this service is not — please read this one

Nothing on this site is investment advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or financial product.

• We are not registered with SEBI as an Investment Adviser under the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, nor as a Research Analyst under the SEBI (Research Analysts) Regulations, 2014, and we do not hold ourselves out as either.
• We do not name specific securities, mutual funds, schemes or products as recommendations, and we do not rank or rate them.
• Nothing here is personalised. The site knows nothing about your income, liabilities, tax position, dependants, time horizon or risk tolerance, and a calculator that does not know those things cannot be telling you what to do.
• We charge nothing for any of it, and we receive no commission, brokerage, referral fee or other consideration from any product manufacturer or distributor.
• No adviser–client relationship, and no fiduciary duty, arises from your use of this site.

A calculator output is arithmetic performed on assumptions you chose. It is not a forecast, and a projected figure is not a promise. The full disclaimer explains this in more detail and forms part of these terms.

Before acting on anything you read here, consult a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser, a qualified tax professional, or both.

4. Who may use it

The material is free to read at any age. Accounts are limited to those aged 18 and over, because the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires verifiable parental consent to process the data of anyone younger and we are not set up to obtain it. See the privacy policy.

5. Accounts

Accounts are not currently available on this deployment. Everything the site offers works without one.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that breaches someone else’s rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its infrastructure or another user’s account, or probe or test its security without our written permission.
• Scrape, crawl or copy the site at a volume that degrades it for others, or circumvent any rate limit.
• Republish substantial parts of the written content as your own, or use it to train a model, without our permission.
• Introduce malware, or interfere with the site’s operation.
• Present anything from this site as personalised financial advice to someone else, or as advice given by a registered adviser.

7. Intellectual property

The written content, design, code and branding of this site belong to us and are protected by the Copyright Act, 1957. You may read, print and share links freely, and quote short extracts with attribution and a link. You may not reproduce substantial portions, or present the material as your own.

The formulae themselves — compound interest, EMI, XIRR and the rest — are mathematics and belong to nobody. The explanations of them here are ours.

If you believe something here infringes your copyright, write to privacy@freefinance.site identifying the material and your rights in it, and we will investigate and remove anything infringing.

8. Third-party links and data

We link to regulators, exchanges and other sources so claims can be checked. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content, and a link is not an endorsement. Where we cite data — rates, rules, thresholds — we record the source and the date it was checked, and it may have changed since.

9. Advertising

The site carries no advertising at present. We intend to introduce it to cover running costs. When we do, advertisements will be clearly distinguishable from the content, will never be placed inside a calculator’s results or between a quiz question and its explanation, and an advertisement will never be an endorsement by us.

10. Availability

The site is provided as it is. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time, and we do not guarantee it will be available without interruption or free of errors. Where we find a material error in a calculation or an explanation, we correct it and say so.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

We take accuracy seriously — every formula is tested, and worked examples are checked against the arithmetic they describe — but we do not warrant that the content is free of error or suitable for your circumstances.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any investment loss, trading loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or reliance on anything in it.

Investment decisions are yours. The site cannot know your circumstances and does not attempt to; the outputs are arithmetic on assumptions you selected.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, or from your unlawful use of the site.

14. Grievance redressal

If something here concerns you — a factual error, content you believe is unlawful or infringing, or how your data has been handled — write to privacy@freefinance.site, addressed to Jayanth Pasala. We aim to acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days.

For data-protection complaints specifically, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if our response does not satisfy you. See the privacy policy.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Chennai, India.
