Financial Disclaimer
What this site is for, and the decisions it cannot make for you.

This is education, not advice
FreeFinance exists to help you understand how financial calculations work and what drives their outcomes. It is not an advisory service. Nothing here is investment advice, and nothing here recommends buying, selling or holding any security or financial product.
We are not registered with SEBI as an Investment Adviser or as a Research Analyst, we hold no such licence, and we do not claim any government, regulatory, university or professional-body accreditation. No adviser–client relationship arises from using this site.
Nothing here is personalised
A calculator takes the numbers you type and applies a formula to them. It does not know your income, your debts, your tax bracket, your dependants, your job security, your existing portfolio, your time horizon or how you would actually feel watching a holding fall forty per cent. Those are precisely the things that determine what anyone should do — which is why what appears here cannot be it.
A projection is not a prediction
When a calculator shows what ₹10,000 a month might become at an assumed 12% a year, it is answering an arithmetic question: if that rate held for that period, what would the total be? It is not a forecast, and it is not what you will get.
- Real returns arrive unevenly. The same average, delivered in a different order, produces a different outcome once you are adding to or drawing from the pot.
- The assumed rate is your input, not our estimate. We deliberately do not tell you what rate to assume.
- Costs are usually excluded — expense ratios, exit loads, brokerage, stamp duty and taxes all reduce what reaches you, and over decades they matter more than most people expect.
- Inflation reduces what a future sum will buy, which is a separate question.
Where a calculator excludes something material, its assumptions panel says so. Read it.
Market investments carry risk
Mutual fund and securities investments are subject to market risks. The value of an investment can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you put in. Past performance does not indicate future results. No return shown anywhere on this site is guaranteed, promised or assured, and any figure described as “assumed” means exactly that.
Accuracy, and its limits
Every formula on this site is unit-tested, and the worked examples in the explanations are checked against the arithmetic they describe. We take this seriously — during development we found and corrected numeric claims in our own prose that the arithmetic did not support.
Even so, we do not warrant that everything is free of error. Rates, tax rules and regulatory thresholds change, and content correct when written may be out of date when you read it. Where we cite a source we record the date it was checked. If you find something wrong, tell us — we would rather correct it than defend it.
Tax is not covered
Calculations here generally ignore tax, which varies by instrument, holding period, income and residency. Nothing here is tax advice. For anything with a tax consequence, consult a qualified tax professional.
Third-party sources
We link to regulators, exchanges and industry bodies so that claims can be verified. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their accuracy, and a link is not an endorsement.
Nobody here will ever ask for your money or credentials
We will never ask for your bank account, card number, PAN, Aadhaar, demat or broker login, one-time password, or a payment of any kind — not on this site, not by email, not by phone. Anyone claiming to be from FreeFinance and asking for those things is impersonating us. Report it to hello@freefinance.site.
For decisions that matter, get advice
Use this site to understand the mechanics, then take a real decision to someone who can look at your whole position: a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser for investments, and a qualified tax professional for tax. You can verify a registration on SEBI’s own website before engaging anyone.
